What are contacts and why are they so important?

Contacts are true flats on the O.D. of each anvil. Contacts aid in the English Wheel's ability to form your panel with an even distribution of pressure over a large area. Full Contact wheels eliminate pinch marks and create a smoother panel than full radius sets.

How long until my "hardened" wheels will ship?

Hardened wheels take an additional 2 weeks to prepare and are available for an additional $25.00 per anvil.

How are the hardened wheels different?

We finish machine these wheels using ceramic inserts that withstand the heat from the hardening process. These wheels are useful for artists and jewelers, as well as those in the automobile, motorcycle and aerospace industries. Hardened wheels leave no lines and are perfect for 'bare metal' projects.
